Aesthetic Medicine

EMC is happy to introduce Aesthetic Medicine to the services we offer the local community.  Three of our doctors currently provide these services.  Dr Tanya Coulson and Dr Lara Jackson both have Certificates in Aesthetic Medicine and provide services in the following:

  • General skin care assessment and advice
  • Advice on quality cosmeceutical products, some of which we stock at EMC
  • Micro-needling procedures
  • Physician grade skin peels
  • Wrinkle-relaxing injections (we can discuss the product we use during consultations but we are not permitted to advertise it on the web page)

In addition, Dr Rob Archer provides a number of aesthetic procedures including:

  • Wrinkle-relaxing injections (we can discuss the product we use during consultations but we are not permitted to advertise it on the web page)
  • Dermal fillers
  • Small area liposuction and fat transfer filler procedures

Both Dr Rob Archer and Dr Tanya Coulson also provide

  • Platelet-Rich Plasma treatment (the ‘Vampire Facelift’)

We do not have any ‘supervised non-medical practitioners’ performing any of our aesthetic procedures.  All of our aesthetic procedures are completed by the doctor themselves in an environment that is appropriate for the type of procedure. Coming to a medical practice for your treatment also ensures the same confidentiality that you would expect with any medical issue you discuss or procedures you undergo with our doctors.

If this is something that interests you, you should book a confidential initial appointment with one of our cosmetic doctors and we can provide an assessment and advice.

Microneedling

Microneedling refers to the process of repeatedly puncturing the skin at a very shallow depth with tiny sterile needles.  The process induces the production of collagen, which is a key structural component of the skin.  This provides a smoother, firmer and more toned skin.  Microneedling can be combined with different products to assist in the delivery of the product in addition to the collagen inducing effect

Physician grade skin peels

Physician grade skin peels involve the application of a chemical peeling agent to the skin, which results in the destruction of, and subsequent rejuvenation of various layers of the skin.  The indication for the skin peel will determine the depth required.  The depth of a peel depends on the chemical agent and the technique of application.  Skin peels are indicated for the following:

  • Destruction of pre-cancerous areas on the skin
  • Resurfacing of UV damaged and aged skin
  • Improvement of wrinkles
  • Improvement of pigmentation on the face
  • Improvement of mild acne scars
