What does it all mean?
SCREENING AUDIOMETRY FOR CHILDREN 5 YEARS OF AGE UP TO 8-10 YEARS OF AGE – Screening Audiometry is completed in a relaxed, non-stressful manner and indicates whether a child’s hearing is adequate for normal speech and language development.
AUDIOMETRY FROM 8-10 YEARS OF AGE TO ADULTS – Audiometry evaluations are a painless, non-invasive hearing test that measures a person’s ability to hear different sounds, pitches or frequencies.
TYMPANOMETRY (COMPLETED ON ALL AGE RANGES) – Tympanometry is a simple test that provides useful information about the presence of fluid in the middle ear, mobility of the middle ear system and ear canal volume.
Hearing issues in Adults
Hearing loss is one of the most common conditions affecting older adults. Hearing issues in adults can cause difficulties with social interaction and at work as well as causing frustration when having conversations with friends and family. It can also affect day to day things such as responding to warnings and hearing doorbells and alarms.

In these days of increased technology, hearing issues is now a growing concern for younger people.
Latest research suggests that 97% of children have used a mobile device and that most of those would have used earbuds.
Hearing issues in children can impact speech and language development as well as communication skills which can lead to social isolation and poor self-concept. Language deficit can cause learning problems that result in reduced academic achievement.
